  On 13 January 2026, ZAWA officers were discovered by Headman Muhongo after setting up camp near Sihendo Village in Sikongo District, Western Province. Sikongo District is set to mark a major milestone in its healthcare development following the acquisition of a 26.9 hectare site for the construction of its first ever modern district hospital. Sikongo Town Council has confirmed that construction works are expected to commence in June 2026 after the completion of the procurement process. Once operational, the hospital will significantly improve access to quality healthcare services for the people of Sikongo District and surrounding communities.
